Stand Up Paddleboarding
We offer introductory SUP (stand up paddleboarding) lessons & guided tours of our local coastline around Dunnet and Talmine. Whether you're looking to learn the basics or explore our beautiful coastline by paddle, you're welcome to join us.
Our lessons include top quality equipment and fully trained ISA coaches. Due to needing specific conditions- with very little wind and swell- we will get in touch around 2 days in advance to confirm if the lesson is possible, and if so confirm the exact meeting point and time then.
Ages: Minimum age is 12 (under 18s need an adult observing at all times). However we can run private lessons at Scrabster beach with ages 8+

Experience: No previous experience is required. All are welcome from beginners to intermediates.

Equipment: All equipment is included- we have a wide range of 5mm wetsuits to cater for all shapes and sizes.

Duration: Around an hour and a half
​
Location: The exact location is conditions depeadant and will be confirmed 2 days before the lesson. Options are Dwarwick pier, Brough pier or Scrabster bay.

Or for an extra £100 travel fee we can meet you at Talmine Bay.

We will look at the forecasts around 3 days in advance (the forecast isn't reliable any earlier than this) and let you know if we can go ahead with your booking. We need calm conditions with winds under 10mph.

If conditions are looking calm enough we will then confirm the start time and location.

If you need to cancel we do require 24 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 24 hours of the lesson start time we require 50% of the total.

"We booked a 2 hour private paddle boarding lesson with Iona and it was brilliant. We were reliant on the weather, but Iona kept in touch and was good at letting us know the plans for the lesson. Fortunately the weather was on our side, and we had the best paddle board lesson. Iona was very relaxed and supportive - we had never been on a paddle board before, and she explained everything to us in an easy to understand way. We then went for a paddle around the bay, we had a pitstop on this lovely quiet beach and paddled back. Iona showed us different techniques and things we could do on the paddleboard. Iona picks a spot that has beautiful views and she is very knowledgeable about the local area. Would highly recommend!"
