Surf on the edge of the World!

North Coast Watersports provides award winning watersport experiences situated along the North Coast 500, where you will see this breathtaking coast from a new perspective. Anyone of any age can grab a board and come out and enjoy the beautiful waters with us and by the end you will be warmed to the heart with stoke and a love for riding waves- our wetsuits are also super cosy.

Iona is the 2019 ladies Scottish Champion and Finn is a previous Under 18s champion- learn to surf with our experienced, fully ISA trained coaches that totally love being in the ocean! Iona has grown up on the North Coast and can't wait to share her favourite place in the world with you. Finn grew up on a wee island called Tiree. Always living by the sea has made him a very passionate surfer and coach. Both have previously worked at Blackhouse Watersports on Tiree and Aotearoa surf  in New Zealand

Our locations

We operate in the Scottish highlands along the North Coast. Thurso which is the main town is known as the cold water surfing mecca of the world!! The 2 main beaches we operate at is Dunnet beach and Ceannabeinne beach near Durness. Both are long sandy bays that picks up all the north sea swells. They are the perfect places to learn or improve how to surf with the long mellow waves these beaches can offer. Come down and spend the day at either of these spots!

The North Coast Vibe

If your considering visiting the North coast to surf (or not to surf) then have a look at this video (Unsung Corners: A Scottish Odyssey). We love it because it not only portrays the amazing waves and beautiful landscapes but the vibe of the Highlands too! Give us a shout and we will help immerse you in this wild wonderful coast!!

"This was by far the highlight of our NC500 trip! Anyone worried about the cold, don't give it a second thought. The wetsuits were great and we didn't stop laughing the whole time. Finn was really helpful and easy going, we'll definitely be back"
